Seeking justice for the city

Today’s student is very aware of social issues on both local and global levels: human trafficking, poverty, gender identity, race, educational disparities, and politics to name a few. Advocates, community organizers, educators, and social workers living and working in urban contexts, in particular, have a greater awareness that their responsibility includes care for the marginalized and engagement of pressing community issues. The Biblical Justice Certificate provides the foundations and flexibility to meet the aspirations of those seeking justice for their cities.

  • You will articulate culturally relevant biblical and theological frameworks for addressing social issues.

  • You will reach a proficiency in your aptitude to study current social trends.

  • You will identify the challenges posed by contemporary culture to Christian belief and practice.

  • You will design appropriate seminars addressing social concerns in your community for community and church leaders.
